Spectrometer:

                    Spectrometers are widely used in many fields including medicine, chemistry, and physics. In this video, we will be discussing the different types of spectrometers and their applications.

The light source is passed through a prism or diffraction grating, which separates the light into its different wavelengths. This allows us to analyze the composition of a sample.

  • UV-Visible Spectrometer: This type of spectrometer is used to measure the absorbance of a sample in the ultraviolet and visible regions of the spectrum. It is commonly used in the analysis of pigments, dyes, and other organic compounds.

  • Infrared Spectrometer: This type of spectrometer is used to measure the absorption of infrared radiation by a sample. It is commonly used in the analysis of organic compounds and minerals.

  • Raman Spectrometer: This type of spectrometer is used to measure the inelastic scattering of light, known as Raman scattering. It is commonly used in the analysis of organic compounds and minerals.

  • Atomic Absorption Spectrometer: This type of spectrometer is used to measure the absorption of light by atoms. It is commonly used in the analysis of metals and other elements.
